Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 by our 22 illustrious founders at Howard University in Washington D.C. Our sisterhood of over 200,000 college-trained women expands throughout the U.S., West Germany, the Virgin Islands, Nassau, Bahamas and West Africa. Delta was the first public service sorority and prides itself on uplifting the community. The major programmatic focuses of the sorority are centered on the organization's Five-Point Program:

International Awareness and Involvement 
Physical and Mental Health 
Political Awareness and Involvement

 

Gamma Nu Chapter was chartered on November 8, 1947 by five dynamic young women at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Gamma Nu prides itself on upholding the ideals of Delta Sigma Theta by serving the IU campus and Bloomington communities. Delta's never-ending service to the community has come with great accomplishments. Gamma Nu was awarded an official day on the Bloomington city calendar. Since 1993, April 13th has been known as "Gamma Nu Day."
